The sound of the door unlocking roused me from my restless sleep. Even unconscious, my brain tormented me with images of Chase fucking Heather, Knox holding me down while taking what he wanted, Griff standing by and letting it all happen as Morgan laughed at his side.

I didn’t move from my spot on the bed, instead choosing to stare at the gray wall, my eyes focused on the tiny bubbles and imperfections in the paint. I felt the bed sink behind me, and without even seeing him, I knew it was Austin. The tiny hairs on the back of my neck stood on end, his proximity putting my body on high alert.

“Pet,” he crooned, stroking a finger down my bare arm. “You hurt yourself. I can’t have you injuring yourself, that simply won’t do.” I glanced at him over my shoulder, watching as he pulled a small vial from his pocket. I quickly scooted away, not wanting him to drug me again.

“Oh, don’t worry, my Pet, this will fix your hand.”

With a gentleness that belied his usually brutal ways, Austin tugged on my shoulder, forcing me to roll toward him. He unwrapped my hand, blood still seeping slowly from the angry wound. He stretched my fingers, flattening my palm before sprinkling the contents of the vial over it. I watched as the light blue powder coated the gash, my skin knitting itself together. There was a burning sensation, the skin pinching as it healed, but it was over before I had a chance to register the discomfort.

I pulled my hand away, holding it close to my chest. “Thank you,” I mumbled quietly, my voice hoarse from crying. I sat up slowly, tucking my knees under my chin before wrapping my arms around them. I stared blankly ahead, my mind a hail storm, images of my men’s betrayal raining down until it was all I could do not to break completely.

Austin sat beside me in silence, his head tilted slightly as he studied me. He was wearing different clothes from earlier, but if I had to guess, I didn’t think I’d been here more than a day. Although, with no clock and no way to see outside, it was impossible for me to be sure.

Just enough time to completely destroy my entire world.

A sob broke free before I could stop it, tears spilling freely down my cheeks as I broke. I covered my face, weeping for the men that betrayed me, for the love I thought we shared. My body shook as grief took hold.

“Oh now, Pet, as much as I love your tears, we have more pressing matters to attend to.” Austin’s voice startled me from my misery. He was standing in front of me, his hand outstretched. “Well, let’s go. It’s time for our first date.”

What in the ever loving fuck?

“Austin, I’m not going on a date with you. You fucking kidnapped me!” I gaped at him, shocked at his complete lack of understanding. Although, I guessed I shouldn’t be that surprised, given that he did orchestrate this entire fucked up situation.
